Next Generation - Configure Columns and fields for all enquiries

You can rearrange, remove unwanted columns, and add new ones to be displayed on the Sales, Purchase and Nominal (Financials) Ledger Enquiry screens to best suit your needs.

For consistency the functionality is the same regardless of where you open the Configure Columns screen. You will only have to set this up once per screen as the settings are saved for you.

The steps below take you through the sales ledger transaction enquiry, however the functionality is the same for all of the Next Generation enquiry and record list screens.

Remove unwanted columns

  1. Click Debtors then Enquiries then click Sales Transactions.

    • Note: All sales transactions displayed. You can narrow down you search using advanced filters. You can also search on the columns directly by pointing the mouse to the name of the column and click on the icon and choose from the available filter list, then click OK.

  2. On the Enquiry screen, click on icon the top right-hand side of the screen.

  3. From the list displayed, click on Configure Columns to open the Configure Columns screen.

    • Note: All currently displayed columns on the enquiry have a ticked checkbox in front of them.

  4. Remove the tick for any columns which you no longer need.

  5. Click Confirm Columns to save your changes.

The columns that are displayed on the enquiry screen are refreshed to display your configuration.

Add new columns

  1. Click Debtors then Enquiries then click Sales Transactions.

    • ​​​​​​​Note: All sales transactions displayed. You can narrow down you search using advanced filters. You can also search on the columns directly by pointing the mouse to the name of the column and click on the icon and choose from the available filter list, then click OK.

  2. On the Enquiry screen, click on icon the top right-hand side of the screen.

  3. From the list displayed, click on Configure Columns to open the Configure Columns screen.

  4. Select the checkbox in front of the columns that you want to add to the enquiry.

  5. Click Confirm Columns to save your changes.

The columns that are displayed on the enquiry screen are refreshed to display your configuration.

Move columns around using the mouse

  1. Click Debtors then Enquiries then click Sales Transactions.

  2. On the Enquiry screen, click on icon the top right-hand side of the screen.

  3. Select Configure Column from the displayed list.

    • Note: The Configure Columns screen is opened with the list of columns that are available for this screen.

  4. Point to the horizontal lines displayed in front of a column until you see the mouse cursor changing to a little hand.

  5. Now hold down the left mouse key and start moving the column to your desired position.

  6. Once complete, click Confirm Columns.

The columns that are displayed on the enquiry screen are refreshed to display your configuration.

Move columns around using the keyboard

  1. Click Debtors then Enquiries then click Sales Transactions.

    • ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Note: All sales transactions displayed. You can narrow down you search using advanced filters. You can also search on the columns directly by pointing the mouse to the name of the column and click on the icon and choose from the available filter list, then click OK.

  2. On the Enquiry screen, click on icon the top right-hand side of the screen.

  3. Select Configure Column from the displayed list.

    • Note: The Configure Columns screen is opened with the list of columns that are available for this screen.

  4. You can see that there are numbers at the end of each column listed, these numbers indicate the position of the columns.

  5. Enter the number 3 in the number box for a column that is number 1.

  6. You can see that the column that was the first in the list is now third.

  7. Continue adding in the numbers in the number box until you are done, then click Confirm Columns.

The columns that are displayed on the enquiry screen are refreshed to display your configuration.

Note: You can also move columns around on an enquiry screen, just hover over the column you wish to move and when you see the little hand, just drag the column to the position you need it to be in by holding down the left mouse key.
