Next Generation - Search or filter on the displayed columns

You can easily search or filter directly on all of our Next Generation record lists, processing and enquiry screens.

Once you have configured your columns on your enquiry and record list columns in a way that suits your business the best, you can filter or search directly on these.

Our example below takes you through a record list and an enquiry screen, but you can follow the same steps on other enquiries or record lists.

Customer Record List

  1. Click Debtors then click Customers.

    • All customers in your database are displayed.

  2. Find the Customer Name column and with your mouse move to the label of the Customer Name column until you see 3 small horizontal lines appearing at the end of the label.

  3. Click on the 3 horizontal lines to open the Filter pop-up.

  4. Click on the Filter tab.

  5. Click on the drop-down menu or arrow to see more filter or search options being offered for you.

    • For example use the Contains option, then enter the characters that you know in the field below.

  6. Click OK.

Note: If you cannot see the column that you wish to search for, have a look at our Configure Columns user guides to help you add or remove any columns.


The screen will only show you records that match your search criteria and on the searched column, you have an indicator to show you that the particular column had a search or filter applied.
You can repeat the same steps as above on any of the columns and you can also select different search or filter criteria.

Sales Transaction Enquiry

  1. Click Debtors then Enquiries and then click Sales Transactions.

    • All sales transactions in your database are displayed.

  2. Find the Account Name column and with your mouse move to the label of the Account Name column until you see 3 small horizontal lines appearing at the end of the label.

  3. Click on the 3 horizontal lines to open the Filter pop-up.

  4. Click on the Filter tab.

  5. Click on the drop-down menu or arrow to see more filter or search options being offered for you.

    • For example use the Equals option, then enter the characters that you know in the field below.

  6. Click OK.

The screen will only show you records that match your search criteria and on the searched column, you have an indicator to show you that the particular column had a search or filter applied.
You can repeat the same steps as above on any of the columns and you can also select different search or filter criteria.
