Next Generation - Cancel and re-open a stock take

A guide to cancelling and re-opening stock takes, covering the eligible statuses for each action and the steps to complete them from the Stock Take screen.

You can cancel or re-open stock takes directly from the Stock Take screen by selecting the checkbox in front of the stock you wish to work with. You can only select one stock take at a time for these actions.

You can cancel stock takes with the status Not Started, In Progress, or Review. You can re-open stock takes with the status Cancelled.

Cancelling a stock take

  1. Click Stock then Transactions and then click Stock Take.
    ​Note: All stock takes are displayed. You can narrow down your search by using the advanced filters. You can also search on the columns directly by pointing the mouse to the name of the column and click on the

    icon and choose from the available filter list, then click OK.

  2. Select the checkbox in front of the stock take you wish to work with where the status is either Not Started, In Progress or Review.
    ​Note: The Action Panel automatically opens from the right-hand-side of the screen.

  3. Click on the Cancel Stock Take action card.

  4. Click Cancel Stock Take on the confirmation prompt.

  5. A toast message confirms the stock take has been cancelled successfully and you are returned to the Stock Take screen.

Note: The cancelled stock take retains its original status (Not Started, In Progress, or Review) and is marked with a tick in the Cancelled column.

Re-open a cancelled stock take

  1. Click Stock then Transactions and then click Stock Take.
    ​Note: All stock takes are displayed. You can narrow down your search by using the advanced filters. You can also search on the columns directly by pointing the mouse to the name of the column and click on the

    icon and choose from the available filter list, then click OK.

  2. Select the checkbox in front of the stock take you wish to re-open.
    ​Note: The Action Panel automatically opens from the right-hand-side of the screen.

  3. Click on the Re-open Stock Take action card.

  4. Click Re-open Stock Take on the confirmation prompt.

  5. A toast message confirms the stock take has been re-opened successfully and you are returned to the Stock Take screen.

Note: The re-opened stock take has the tick removed from the Cancelled column and retains its original status.
