Next Generation - Duplicate a stock take

A guide to duplicating stock takes, covering how to create a new stock take from an existing one and the available options during the duplication process.

You can duplicate an existing stock take to create a new one with the same stock items, date, and notes regardless of the stock take's status. This is useful when you need to perform regular stock takes on the same items without having to reselect them each time.

You can only duplicate one stock take at a time, and a duplicated stock take always starts at Stage 1 with a Not Started status.

Duplicate a stock take

  1. Click Stock then click Transactions and then click Stock Take.
    Note:
All stock take records with their different statuses are displayed. You can narrow down your search to only display Review status stock takes by using the advanced filters. You can also search on the Status column directly by pointing the mouse to the name of the column and click on the

icon and choose Review from the list, then click OK.

  2. Select the checkbox in front of the stock take you want to duplicate.
Note: The Action Panel automatically opens from the right-hand-side of the screen.

  3. Click on the Duplicate action card on the Action Panel.

  4. The Duplicate Stock Take prompt displays the following options:

    • Date - Defaults to current date and can be changed manually.

    • Include Found Items - Checkbox which is not selected by default.

  5. If you want to include additional items from the original stock take in the main Stock Take Items section, select the Include Found Items checkbox.

  6. Click Duplicate.

A toast message confirms the stock take has been duplicated successfully and you are returned to the Stock Take screen. The new stock take is created with a Not Started status.

Note: When you duplicate a stock take:

  • All stock items from the original stock take are included.

  • If "Include Found Items" is selected, additional items are moved into the main Stock Take Items section.

  • If "Include Found Items" is not selected, only the original stock items are included.

  • The new stock take always starts at Stage 1 with Not Started status.

  • Date and notes from the original stock take are copied to the new stock take.
