Each transaction has a set of transaction options that control the way you enter and process a transaction. You can find these options on the Save Options screen after clicking Save on any transaction.
The Allocate Transaction Now options is available for all transaction types. If you select this, the allocation window opens prepopulated with the customer and their defaults.
This saves you time, so you don't have to go through the navigation process and locate the relevant customer.
This article takes you through accessing the Allocations screen from an Invoice in the Sales Ledger.
To access the Allocate Transaction Now option
Click Debtors then click Transactions.
Select Invoice then select the customer. You can enter the customer account code. If you're unsure of the code, you can click the drop-down arrow and select Show More which displays several more records and offers you to search the code and name of the customer.
Enter the sales ledger invoice details then click Save.
Note: Don't worry, your transaction is not going to be posted just yet. Saving on the transaction screen takes you to the Save Options screen first where you can select from different options.
Select Allocate Transaction Now.
Click Save and you're taken to the Allocation screen where your receipt will be selected for you for processing and you can select any other transaction types to allocate to the invoice.
Click Process to finish the cycle and for your selected transactions to be allocated against each other.
