Next Generation - Access receipt and allocation directly from transactions

You can go through the full cycle of an invoice by using the Enter Receipt Now and the Allocate Transaction Now options without having to navigate away from the Invoice screen or having to relocate the customer.

Selecting the Enter Receipt Now and Allocate Transaction Now options takes you through the whole workflow seamlessly saving you time.

The example below takes you through a full cycle of entering an invoice, then the receipt and then allocating the two transactions together, however you can follow the same steps for when you create a sales ledger credit note or debit adjustment or credit adjustment.

When you enter a sales ledger credit note or debit or credit adjustment, you can follow the same steps as below, but there is no option for Enter Receipt Now, just for the Allocate Transaction Now.

To access the Enter Receipt Now and Allocate Transaction Now options

  1. Click Debtors then click Transactions.

  2. Select Invoice then select the customer. You can enter the customer account code. If you're unsure of the code, you can click the drop-down arrow and select Show More which displays several more records and offers you to search the code and name of the customer.

  3. Enter the details then click Save.

    • Note: Don't worry, your transaction is not going to be posted just yet. Saving on the transaction screen takes you to the Save Options screen first where you can select from different options.

  4. Select Enter Receipt Now and Allocate Transaction Now.

  5. Click Save then you're taken to the Receipt screen where the customer and the GBP Gross value is prepopulated for you from the invoice.

  6. Click Save again then you're taken to the Allocation screen where your invoice and receipt will be selected for you for processing.

  7. Click Process to finish the full cycle of entering an invoice, a receipt and allocate all in one.
