Next Generation - Set up extra custom fields for your customer

With custom fields, you can capture extra information against the customer.

As default, there are only 2 custom fields displayed for a customer record under the Custom tab, but you can add more of these fields to help capture even more information that you wish to add to your customer records.

To add in more of these custom fields, you will need access to the System Module which is security permission driven.

20 User Character fields

Accepts any character entry.

20 User Number fields

Accepts only numbers.

10 User Date fields

You can select a date.

10 User Flag fields

Have checkboxes.


To set up custom fields:

  1. Click System then select Options.

  2. Click Custom Fields then click Edit and then click on the Customer tab.

  3. Select the desired number of the following fields:

  • User Character

  • User Number

  • User Date

  • User Flag

  1. You can also set the User Character, user Number and User Date fields as a compulsory entry which means that they will have to be populated before the customer record can be saved.

  2. Click Save.
