Access Financials has the capability to allow you to soft close periods where the period is fully closed and the people with relevant permission can still post to a restricted or sot closed period.
The permission to allow this functionality is security profile driven.
When you are trying to post a transaction in any module of the system, you may come across the "The transaction date entered relates to a restricted period. Is this OK" message that prevents you from being able to post the relevant transaction to the selected year and or period.
This warning appears when you have selected a period or have adjusted your transaction date backwards and it falls within a soft-closed restricted period and your user account does not have this permissions.
To resolve this issue, you should ask your system administrator to grant you permission to be able to post into a restricted period.
When the Enable Working Periods feature is turned on for your database, you can follow the steps below to grant posting to restricted periods permission.
Set up Enable Working Period
With the system administrator user, log into Access Financials and click on System then Security and then click on Future Period Posting Permissions.
Select the checkbox next to the relevant security profile that you wish to grant restricted period posting permission for.
Click on the checkbox next to the Post To Restricted Periods at top right-hand side of the the screen and click Save.
Users assigned to the profile you have updated need to log out and then back in to Access Financials for the changes to take place.
