Improving performance

Occasionally your software may not work as expected, for example, the software may run slowly or crash. There are several reasons why this happens including:

  • Firewall.

  • Anti-virus.

  • Cache and cookies on browser.

  • Extensions on your browser.

To try and resolve these issues, follow the instructions below:

Close Access Financials

To close Access Financials:

  1. Click the three dots then click Close.

  2. Click the nine box grid then reopen Access Financials.

Note: Firewall and anti-virus software updates can affect what browsers display. Check with your IT to ensure that recent updates haven't had an impact.


If the above doesn't work, follow the steps below on your preferred browser.

Google Chrome

  1. Click the three dots then point to More tools.

  2. Click Clear browsing data.

  3. Under the Time range drop down and select All time. Ensure Cookies are selected.

  4. Clear the Browsing History check box. The only two boxes that you need to select are:

  • Cookies and other site data.

  • Cached images and files.

5. Click Clear data then close and reopen the browser once complete.

Mozilla Firefox

  1. Click the three lines then select Settings.

  2. Click Privacy & Security then scroll down to Cookies and Site Data.

  3. Click Clear Data then clear the Cookies and Site Data check box.

  4. Click Clear.

Microsoft Edge

  1. Click the three dots then click History.

  2. Click the three dots then click Clear browsing data.

  3. Make sure you select Cookies and other site data and Cached images and files.

  4. Click Clear now.

Internet Explorer version 9 and above

  1. Click the gear icon then select Internet options.

  2. Under Browsing history, click Delete.

  3. Clear the Preserve favorites website data check box.

  4. Select Temporary internet files and Cookies and website data.

  5. Click Delete then click OK.

Safari version 9 and above

  1. Click Safari then click Clear History and Website Data.

  2. Select the time range then click Clear History.

  3. Close and reopen the browser.

Safari version 7 and below

  1. Click Safari then select Reset Safari.

  2. Select the items to reset then click Reset.

  3. Close and reopen the browser.

Note: From Safari 5.1, when you select Remove all website data this includes both cookies and cache.

Blocked Content

It is also possible that your PC or network is blocking access to web components used by the application. You can check as follows:

  1. In the browser, click F12 to display the browser DevTools side-bar

  2. Then select the Console tab

  3. The try accessing Financials again.

This should then reveal if any traffic is being blocked, indicated by red error messages. If there are any present, then report these to your internal network support team.

If you are running ad blocker extensions, then you will need to disable them when using Access Financials or create a whitelist rule for them.
