When you build your chart of accounts, you are requested to add all the default accounts for the 12 different nominals in Access Financials.
For more information on these 12 accounts, please refer to the Build your structure for home currency section on the Build your chart of accounts article.
You can update the default accounts at any point you need to.
Update the default nominal accounts:
Click Financials then click Chart of Accounts.
Note: The Chart of Accounts screen opens as default in View Mode after a structure has been built.Set the toggle button at the top of the screen from View Mode to Build Mode by clicking on the space next to Build Mode.
Note: The Chart of Accounts screen is now displayed in Build Mode and more buttons are displayed.Click on the Update Defaults at the bottom of the screen.
Note: The Specify Default Accounts screen opens with all the default accounts displayed as per your previous set up.Click on the to remove the data in the field, then click on the drop-down arrow to get access to the available nominal accounts list.
Select the record you wish to see as the default account and continue the steps above for all defaults you wish to change.
If you want the analysis record to be created automatically and the Major Heading allows this to be done automatically, select the Create Analysis check box. For more information on these 12 accounts, please refer to the Build your structure for home currency section on the Build your chart of accounts article.
When you are done, click Save.
Note: The new nominal account has been built and is now part of the Chart of Accounts. You can delete any incorrectly added or unwanted records from a built structure by following the steps on delete categories from the Chart of Accounts article.
