Next Generation - Create a stock record

A guide to creating a stock record, covering the three available tabs and the additional tabs that become accessible once the record is saved.

Creating a stock record is a very straight forward process. This article takes you through how to create the stock record along with completing the tabs available.

To create a new stock record:

  1. Click Stock then click Stock Records.

  2. Click + New Stock then three tabs become available:

Details

Details is the default tab you see when you first create the stock record. For further information on the details tab and how to configure it, follow our article on the Details tab.

Settings

With the Settings tab, you can set transaction defaults, add commodity code and barcodes and set up the relevant VAT for the stock record.

Custom

The custom tab provides extra fields for any additional information that you require that the other tabs don't support. You can enter up to 20 characters in some fields. For further information on the details tab and how to configure it, follow our article on the Custom tab.

  1. Once you have completed all the tabs, click Save.

Note: Once you have saved on a stock record you are creating, more tabs will become available:

  • Prices tab - set up selling and purchasing prices.

  • Turnover tab - view transaction history and turnover data.

  • Visual Analysis tab - you can view graphical analysis of your stock performance.

  • Sub Analysis tab - only appears if you've set the stock record to be a sub analysis type.
