Error - 'Unable to post to period...' when trying to post a transaction

There are two possible reasons for this message:

  • The user's Security Profile does not have sufficient permission to post to the period. This is most likely because it is too far ahead, or restricted by the Working Periods feature.

  • The period is either closed in the current year, or is in a closed year. It is not possible to post or amend in closed periods.
