The Unexpected Error Failure Reason means there is something wrong in the Access Financials database which you are sending the email from.
β
Therefore it is advisable to check the Email Options in the System menu first for any inconsistencies.
β
In Access Financials follow these steps to check and confirm the Email Options (you may need to be a Admin user to see these menus):
Click System, Options, System Options, click the Email Settings tab.
The Email field should have a valid email address in it. This is the email address used to send the emails from. If there is no email address or the email address is invalid, then this can cause the unexpected error message.
If you see Copy to BCC is selected, then all emails sent from Access Financials will attempt to blind copy the Email BCC recipient. If the Email BCC field is blank, then it is likely causing the unexpected error as Access Financials is expecting a valid email address in this field, if Email BCC is selected.
If you are experiencing the error after sending a large batch of emails in one go, such as the Credit Control, Process Statement function, this may be as a result of a large volume of emails being sent in one batch and then being interrupted by another batch.
β
It is recommended, therefore that if sending a large batch of emails you wait a while to confirm the emails have been successfully sent before moving on to the next batch of emails.
