Financials has a Security Audit report that tracks a specific set of user actions. It can only track the following:
Adding a User
Editing Customer Bank Details
Editing Supplier Bank Details
Creating a New Customer
Creating a New Supplier
To see the audit results, click System, Audit, Security Audit. Change the filters and search for the results required.
If a user is unable to see this report, then you may need to activate visibility of the report to users as follows:
Click **System**, **Security**, then click **Profiles**.
Select the relevant profile for the users
Expand the **System** section.
Click Edit
Select the **Security Audit** option.
Click Save
The users will need to close and reopen Financials to access the report.
Troubleshooting the Security Audit report
The Security Audit option is greyed out or missing from the menu
If a user cannot see System > Audit > Security Audit at all, the permission has not been enabled on their Security Profile. Follow the steps above to enable the Security Audit permission under System > Security > Profiles, then ask the user to close and reopen Financials.
The report runs but returns no results
The Security Audit only tracks the five actions listed above. If a user performed an action not in this list — for example editing a transaction, deleting a record, or changing a nominal code — it will not appear in the audit report. No configuration change will add these actions to the audit trail.
The report shows actions but not the ones expected
Check the date range and user filters on the report. Use the filters to narrow the search to the relevant user, date, and action type.
