This error is caused by the default codes for the currency having been set up incorrectly where one analysis code or nominal code has been selected for multiple defaults. To correct this, you will need to do the following:
Navigate to System, Currencies and select the currency
Navigate to the Defaults tab and press the Edit button
Amend the currency defaults so that each field is unique and press Save
