Analysis codes within Access Financials are used to control where the transactions are posted to within the Nominal Ledger. The type of the Analysis code will also indicate where in the application that this Analysis code can be used.
β
It is highly recommended that when creating an Analysis code to create these for each of your currencies that you use, so that your currency transactions are only posted to currency accounts.
Creating an Analysis code on the Sales Ledger
Navigate to Debtors, Settings, Analysis
Press the New button
Select the Type of Analysis Code (either Sales, Bank, Discount or Stock)
Enter the Code and Description.
Make any required changes to Currency, VAT Code, Sort Key and Default Cost Centre where applicable.
Note: Check the Currency. By default the Currency is set to your Default Home Currency of the Database. If required, to use a different Currency, either type a valid currency code or click the Magnifying Glass icon and select a different currency from the trading currencies list.
Note: When an Analysis Record is being edited/inserted, if the Nominal Code has a different currency to that of the Analysis Record a message will display warning you that transactions posted using this code will not update the currency balance or turnover for that Nominal Code with the different currency.
Amend the Nominal Update Accounts depending on the double entry for the Nominal Ledger required.
