We are going to continue to use our reference example for this article.
Example used for reference:
Your company has offices in London and in Oxford, and you have selected the hyphen separator. You have created the records in each category as per the step by step guide on the Categories set up article.
Category1 identifies the office of your company (London and Oxford).
Category 2 identifies the department of your company (sales and general).
Category 3 records the details of the income or cost (1000, 1500, 200 etc).
As the option to do this is in the System Option module which is security profile driven, you will need to have access to this before you can perform the steps below.
Change the nominal category default names:
Click System then Settings and then click Custom Labels.
Click on the Edit button and find the Nominal Record section.
Enter the custom category name you wish to use for all the categories you are using for your Advanced Nominal Ledger.
Click Save and log out and back in for the changes to take effect.
Note: When you log back in, instead of seeing Group Heading, you will see the name that you have entered to this category.
Following our reference example:
We have set up our categories as mentioned in the step by steps guide on how to set up the Advanced Nominal Ledger in the Nominal Options article.
We have selected Group Heading, Division Heading and Other Heading categories where the Other Heading is set as the Detail Category.
Click System then Settings and then click Custom Labels.
Click on the Edit button and find the Nominal Record section.
Highlight and remove the name Group Heading and type in Office as this is your top-level category.
Highlight and remove the name Division Heading and type in Department as this is your middle level category.
Highlight and remove the name Other Heading and type in Detail Category as this is your lowest level category.
Click Save.
Note: You will have to log out and back into Financials for the changes to update correctly.
