There are two types of Upload Journal template:
Standalone (yellow, and using the Add-ins tab)
Integrated (blue, and using the ACCESS tab)
The method for expanding is different and is covered below.
To expand a standalone Upload Journal Template (yellow):
In Excel, open the Upload Journal Template, either a standalone one (which uses the Add-ins tab), or an integrated one (using the ACCESS tab).
Highlight rows 14 to 46 (the row above the black Total row), on the Home tab, in the Cells section, click Insert. The black Total row will have moved down from row 47 to row 80.
If more rows are required, continue to click Insert until the required number of rows have been added.
Note: If hundreds of rows are required, after a few clicks, highlight the rows from row 14 to the row above the black Total row before continuing to click Insert.
When there are more rows than the data to be pasted in, paste in the data starting at row 13.
To expand an integrated Upload Journal Template (blue):
In Excel, select the ACCESS tab.
In the Uploaders section, use the Create Sheet drop-down and select NL Journal.
Highlight rows 13 to as many rows as are required for the data, right click and select Insert Rows. The first click will add up to 35 rows, the second click will add up to 70 and the 3rd up to 140 rows, etc.
Please note that the shortcut Ctrl + does not work in the upload sheet.
If the Insert Rows option is greyed out, close excel entirely. Then reopen it and load the sheet from the File menu rather than double clicking on a shortcut etc.
When there are more rows than the data to be pasted in, paste in the data starting at row 13.
