INXL Get Data is not pulling the updated Major Heading Category Code

Updated over 3 months ago

If the Major Heading code is changed for a nominal account in Financials its saves correctly, however when attempting to check that within INXL Get Data, the changed major heading does not pull through and the previous code is instead pulled, then please see the following:

Note: In Access Financials, viewing and amending an account code records Major Heading under the Nominal Ledger Chart of Accounts does not reflect or affect:

  • Nominal Ledger

  • Settings

  • Categories

  • Accounts (Selecting and Editing an account)

Any changes in Chart of Accounts Major Heading will not affect the Major Heading under Categories section within the NL Settings, and vice versa.

Changing in the categories section is not needed for reflection to the existing accounts, as the existing accounts use the Major Heading directly from within the Chart of Accounts or Nominal Accounts.

The Nominal Ledger Categories Settings is simply used for Setup, and only used as defaults for new nominal builds of the Chart of Accounts. Changes here would only affect for creating new builds. This simply means they act as mini templates to help create, and not actively being used with the existing accounts.

The AOI INXL Get Data report does not reflect any changes made in the Categories section of the Nominal Ledger Settings.

In order to change the Major Heading of the existing accounts:

  1. Click Chart of Accounts

  2. Expand the existing Built Chart

  3. Select the Account(s) required

  4. On the ribbon, click View.

  5. Click View Record

  6. On the Details tab, the Major Heading code can be changed.
Note: The Reporting Code under the Settings tab will change in appropriation to the Major Heading Code.

  7. Click Save.

This is the active part of the system.

The AOI INXL Get Data report looks at the Active Existing Accounts, and pulls in the data which is held within the Chart of Accounts, as per design.
Changes made within the Chart of Accounts will then reflect in the refreshed Get Data report.
