The Major Heading dictates where and how a nominal account appears on the Trial Balance, and also whether it is a Balance Sheet or Profit and Loss account. An overview of major headings can be found in the Settings area of Financials.
There are 12 default major headings in Financials.

It is only possible to update accounts individually, and this can be done as below:
Update the major heading code for Standard Accounts
Click Financials then Accounts.
Note: The Nominal Accounts Record List opens listing all the nominal accounts.Click on the account you wish to change and click the Edit icon at the top of the screen.
On the Details tab find the Major Heading field and click on the magnifying icon.
Select the required code and click Select.
If necessary, enter, amend, or remove the P&L Year End Code.β
Click Save to retain the changes made.
You can also change the Reporting Code on the Settings tab, just follow the same steps as above.
Chart of Accounts
To change the major heading code on a nominal account:
Click Financials then click Chart of Accounts.
Drill down and select the nominal account you wish to work with.
Click on View at the top of the screen and select View Record.
To the right of the Major Heading field, click on the magnifying glass icon.
Select the required code and click Select.
If necessary, enter, amend, or remove the P&L Year End Code.β
Click Save to retain the changes made.
You can also change the Reporting Code on the Settings tab, just follow the same steps as above.
