Move or reinstall Transaction Broker to a new PC or server

Follow these steps to move Transaction Broker to a new location while keeping existing settings:

  1. Install Transaction Broker on the new PC/Server

  2. Copy the .df1 file that it uses over the new one that is created when installing the software

    1. This can be found by launching Transaction Broker (on the source PC)

    2. Clicking Help

    3. Clicking About Transaction Broker

    4. Click on the System tab

    5. Go to the location shown in the Datafile location

  3. This will retain your existing dataset links, and keep your settings

  4. On the destination PC, if you need to change the location of the .df1 file in Transaction Broker this can be done via:

    1. Click File

    2. Click Change Parameter File

  5. If you use for example a text file or .csv and this is moving as well, you would need to:

    1. Launch Transaction Broker.

    2. Click Transaction Broker

    3. Click Define Datalinks

    4. Click on the datalink it is that you run

    5. Click on the magnifying glass

    6. Click Edit

    7. You'll be able to update the source file location, this is at the top right of the window.

Note: Each installed copy of Transaction Broker requires its own local copy of the .df1 file
