Add new Account in Chart of Accounts

You can add an new account to your existing Chart of Accounts at any point in time.

In Access Financials, you have to add the new record in to the relevant category first, then you can add it to your structure using the Chart of Accounts screen.

Add a new record to a category:

  1. Click Financials then Settings then click Categories.

  2. Select the relevant category you want to add an extra record to and click the Edit button.

  3. Click Insert New Record and enter the details, then click Save.

Once the record is added to a category, you can then add this new category record using the Chart of Accounts screen.

Add the new category record to an existing structure to build it to a nominal account:

  1. Click Financials then click Chart of Accounts.
    ​Note: The Chart of Accounts screen opens in View Mode as default.

  2. Set the Chart of Accounts screen to be in Build Mode by moving to toggle button at the top of te screen to the right.

  3. Expand the structure you want to add the new record to in the left-hand side panel.

  4. In the right-hand side panel, select the check box in front of the structure you are going to add the newly created record to.

  5. Select the check box in front of the record and click on the Add button in the middle of the screen.
    ​Note: This action moves the record from the left-hand side panel to the right-hand side panel.

  6. Click on the Build button at the bottom of the screen.

  7. Make changes if you need to on the Specify Defaults screen and click Save.
