Next Generation - Access the Sales Analysis Transaction enquiry

Access the Sales Analysis Transactions Enquiry screen

  1. Click Debtors then Enquiries then click Sales Analysis Transactions.

Note: All sales transactions are displayed. You can narrow down you search using advanced filters. You can also search on the columns directly by pointing the mouse to the name of the column and click on the icon and choose from the available filter list, then click OK.

In Access Financials, when you post transactions using the Debtors or Sales Ledger Module, you will be posting using an analysis record that updates the relevant nominal accounts, rather than using a nominal account directly.

On transactions, the analysis record is pulled through after you have selected a customer record for the transaction and is visible in the Details section, the section where you add your values for your transaction.

Sales Analysis Records have a dual purpose, they contain the Nominal Ledger accounts to which the double entry for the sales transactions will be posted and they provide automatic analysis of your Sales, which is stored in the database and is instantly available through enquiries and reports.

You can view all sales transactions that have been posted to a specific analysis record through the Sales Analysis Transactions enquiry.

To narrow down your search, you can use the Advanced Filter panel or you can filter on all of the columns by pointing to the column label and clicking on the icon to open the filter window.

Analysis Records should be designed in conjunction with the Nominal Accounts to which they will be posted. You should try to use the Analysis records to obtain your analysis and not increase the number of Nominal Ledger accounts more than is necessary.

Good design will make for an efficient reporting system; the time required to run many of the important Financial reports will be increased as you increase the number of Nominal Ledger accounts.

The Sales Analysis Transactions enquiry provides a list of all sales transaction details that have been posted through the sales ledger transactions or the Selling Module.

On the Sales Analysis Transactions enquiry, you can view the detail part of a transaction only, without the header information.
