Error - 'Access Office Integration has fired an exception'

Updated over 3 months ago

If when opening Outlook 2016, a message appears: Access Office Integration has fired an exception. Click the Details button to see the detailed information about the error. These issues are due to a security update from Microsoft.

Note: The following solution requires changes to the Windows Registry files on your PC. Due to the impact that altering the registry can have on Windows, we recommend that these steps are carried out by someone familiar with the Windows Registry system. If you need assistance with this change, please refer to your internal IT department.

The user to whom the HKEY_CURRENT_USER applies must be the same user who is running Outlook. If another user, such as an Administrator, makes the changes below then those changes will not be seen by the Outlook user whose PC it is.
