Create an asset with depreciation after closing a period

Using the In Service Period and Next Posting Period fields in the Settings tab allows you to create an Asset with historical depreciation when entering a new one.

An asset created in period 3 with an In Service Period and Next Posting Period of 1 will generate depreciation for periods 1 and 2 during the process.
