Templates - Standalone journal

How to set up a standalone NL Upload Journal template:

  1. Open the Journal Template file, the latest version is 1.62.

  2. Select the ADD-INS tab.

  3. Click Journal Import, Setup.

  4. Enter ODBC Datasource (which usually can be same as the Dimensions ODBC)

  5. Select Windows User or SQL Authentication, Remember my username and password.

  6. If SQL authentication is selected, enter the Dimensions user credentials.

  7. On the Options ribbon, we recommend having the ‘ignore zero value lines’ selected.

  8. Click ‘OK

How to upload a standalone NL Upload Journal template:

  1. On the Journal Template file, select the ADD-INS tab

  2. Click Journal Import, Upload Journal.

  3. A small window should appear which lists all the databases the application user specified on the ‘Setup’ is a member of.

  4. Select the correct database and OK.

  5. If the ‘Batch’ option was set to ‘YES’, a message will appear asking ‘OK to Batch journal’.

  6. Click ‘Yes’ and the journal will be batched. If the Batch option was set to ‘No’, a message will appear asking ‘OK to Post Journal’. Click ‘Yes’ and the journal will be posted directly onto the ledger.

How to set up a standalone NL Upload Journal template to a hosted database:

  1. Open the Journal Template file,

  2. Select the ADD-INS tab.

  3. Click Journal Import, Setup.

  4. Make sure the Connection Type is set to Hosted.

  5. Enter the Domain as Cloud.

  6. Enter the cloud username and password of that user. If the template is connecting to a Financials database, the user will be the Hosting.Admin account.

  7. Click OK
